About

The Music Mentors Club is predominantly the thought child and work of Daniel Lee, along with assistance from Saahas Anandan, both class of 2021. We hope to be able to better younger musicians and give them a leg up as they enter the higher level of musical performance found in high school. It is our desire to be able to assist with whatever musical help middle schoolers may need and to provide them with tips on how to be successful in competitions, practice so as to not waste time, and simply enjoy performing as part of an ensemble and as a solo artist.

Our Club

Music Mentors is a club that tutors orchestra students from Chattahooche's main feeder school, Taylor Road Middle.

Put very simply, this club is essentially 121Reach. But for music.

Our club will set up online tutoring lessons between a Chattahoochee student, a Mentor, and a Taylor Road student. We hope that these lessons will be able to assist the younger students with any struggles they may be having in class and help them develop good habits and practice schedules.

Our Goals

Though a relatively new club, we hope to have a lasting impact on the Chattahoochee-Taylor Road community for years to come.

Much like the 8th grade concert held every year (except this year, unfortunately), we hope that we will be able to strengthen the relationship between rising high school students from Taylor Road and those already attending Chattahoochee. Mrs. Buonamici really does appreciate every last one of her students and would love it if more and more students continued their musical careers throughout their 4 years in high school

In the short term, our goal is to provide assistance to as many middle school students as we possibly can, giving them the opportunity to work on their fundamentals and practice their music outside of the classroom. We believe these lessons will provide students with more individualized attention and advice, helping them improve at a faster rate.

For Hooch Students, we hope that this club will not only serve as a bright spot on our members' extracurricular resumes for college applications and serve as a source of countless volunteer hours, but that it will provide students with an opportunity to express their interests in teaching and mentoring younger students along their musical journeys.
